Experts in Convenience
Consider Invisalign to get the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted — without braces.
How Invisalign Works
The Invisalign system is made of clear acrylic aligners that fit over your teeth and are designed to straighten your smile.
They’re removable, making it easier to eat, drink, brush and floss. Invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional metal bracket braces and can give you stunning results.
Dr. Manley is a Diamond Plus Invisalign provider. This distinction is only awarded to the most experienced providers.
When you get Invisalign treatment from Christian Manley Orthodontics, you’re getting a smile from the experts.
The Invisalign Process
We'll take photos and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We make your first set of custom-fitted aligners from these images, and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.
You will probably wear Invisalign aligners for 9–15 months, and will typically use 18–30 sets during the treatment.
You wear the trays for about 22 hours a day but can remove them for brushing your teeth and eating.
Based on your individual needs, you’ll wear several sets of trays throughout your orthodontic treatment. You’ll start to notice a change in just a few months!
A Modern Approach
Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.
Wearing the aligners will gently move your teeth into place little by little, based on the exact movements your orthodontist plans for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners about every two weeks, until your treatment is complete.
You’ll get a great smile without a treatment that gets in the way of your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.
This nearly-invisible option to straighten your teeth is truly changing the way people see orthodontic treatment. Dr. Manley has a lot of experience treating patients with Invisalign, and we’re excited to offer this technology to our Sammamish and Issaquah braces patients.
Differences Between Invisalign & Braces
Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic Invisalign aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth. Because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces – bring on the popcorn and peanuts.
In fact, the aligners must be removed for eating and for drinking anything other than water. You need to make sure you’re willing to do that before you decide on Invisalign clear braces.
To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat.
Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces, since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires.
Invisalign Responsibility
It’s important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day for them to do their job and straighten your teeth. But, with Invisalign, you can remove your aligners for special occasions.
Like with traditional braces, you will generally need to wear a retainer after Invisalign treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.
Invisalign may not be recommended for some complex alignment or bite issues, or for those who have bridgework; the doctor can advise you about what options are best for you.

Designed for Little Smiles
In 2018, Invisalign released an orthodontic product designed for patients ages 7-10 years old called Invisalign First or Invisalign First Phase.
About Invisalign First
This clear aligner treatment provides predictable results and a positive experience while addressing the unique needs of growing children.
Invisalign First can help treat:
- Arch development
- Crowding
- Aesthetic alignment
- Influencing proper jaw alignment to facilitate a functional bite
- Preserving space for unerupted permanent teeth
As a child grows, their smile grows with them. And even with baby teeth, it may be the perfect time for children ages 6 to 10 to start orthodontic treatment. This is known as Phase 1 treatment.
At this stage, orthodontists can see issues that may need early treatment to address a developing problem.
A Simple Start
Invisalign First treatment starts with a simple scan (no goopy impressions). From there, every step of your child’s plan is plotted digitally, so you know what to expect.
A Happier Experience
With removable aligners, there’s not much interruption to your child’s life. They can even continue to eat foods that they love.
Plus, the aligners are specifically designed to fit smaller teeth and include space to accommodate teeth that are growing in.
Made for All Sorts of Smiles
Invisalign First clear aligners can fix a wide range of issues, including crowding, spacing, and narrow dental arches.
Keep Your Hygiene Routine
Growing children can continue to brush and floss without the hassle and keep their good hygiene habits on track.
Start Today
At Christian Manley Orthodontics, we like to ease our younger patients into Invisalign First treatment. During the first six months of treatment, we ask our younger patients to only wear their aligners at home and to bed (not during school hours).
Once they have the Invisalign routine down, we move them to full-time wear.

Your Teen Will Love Invisalign®
Straightening your teeth with Invisalign can be a great option if you are concerned about your appearance and don’t want to look different from your friends.
Almost Invisible
The Invisalign for Teens aligners are made of clear plastic and almost invisible. Your friends probably won’t even know you’re wearing them.
Instead of hiding behind a mouth full of metal, you’ll enjoy the confidence of showing that smile every day.
You probably have friends with braces who aren’t allowed to chew gum or eat certain foods like popcorn and whole apples.
With Invisalign for Teens, the aligners are completely removable, allowing you to eat all of your favorite foods whenever you want.
This also means you can easily keep brushing and flossing as you normally would for proper oral hygiene. Try that with braces.
Whether you play sports or a musical instrument, a mouth full of metal can hold you back from enjoying the things you want to.
It’s hard to perform at your best knowing you could get hit in the mouth with a ball, or cut your lip trying to hit that note on the trumpet.
Invisalign for Teens helps you focus on doing what you do best-being a teen.
Perfect for Busy Schedules
Invisalign for Teens treatment is ideal for busy parents because there are never any emergency appointments from broken wires or brackets. Invisalign often requires fewer appointments (than traditional metal braces) because you get your Invisalign aligners in advance, and each visit requires less "chair time."
The typical Invisalign for Teens patient is seen once every 8 weeks for a total average treatment time of 9 to 15 months.
Doesn't Cost More than Traditional Braces
Every patient's needs are different, and many factors determine the cost of Invisalign treatment. In most cases, Invisalign is comparable in cost to traditional braces and covered by most dental insurance plans. Financing options are also available to make Invisalign more affordable for your family.
Great for Active Teens
Invisalign for Teens effectively straightens teeth the same way metal braces do. Invisalign for Teens is an ideal choice for teens who play sports, play certain types of instruments, love crunchy foods, or are worried about how metal braces will look at homecoming or in the yearbook.
As a teenager, you should be able to participate in the activities you’re interested in while still having the confidence to attend social events and make lasting memories. You should also be able to get efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.
With the clear, comfortable technology of Invisalign, teens can keep being themselves and love their smiles even more.
